Proposition Bets in Craps
The flashy one-roll bets in the center of the table (Any Seven, Any Craps, Yo, Horn) are the worst bets in craps, with house edges from 11% all the way to 16.67%.
The proposition bets and their edges
| Bet | Pays | House Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Any Craps (2,3,12) | 7:1 | 11.11% |
| Yo (11) | 15:1 | 11.11% |
| Horn | varies | 12.5% |
| Any Seven | 4:1 | 16.67% |
Why avoid them
Any Seven is the single worst bet on the table at 16.67% - more than ten times the edge of the Pass Line. These bets exist because they are exciting and pay big, but the math is brutal. Every dollar in the center of the layout costs you far more than the same dollar on the line.
